Handmade Wedding: Card Drop Box
I’m so excited about the card drop box I made this evening that I had to post it now…
I used a vintage suitcase that I had from my old craft show table set up and used felt in my wedding colours to add some pretty touches. For the lettering, I simply free handed “cards” in cursive on the peach felt, carefully cut it out, glued it on a piece of white felt and cut around to make a border. Then I glued it to the inside of the suitcase lid…
The felt flowers were made using these great tutorials from Craft Snob and June Pfaff Daley, although I stitched the flowers together rather than use glue. To create the bouquet, I sewed some wire stems to each flower and wrapped them in green painter’s tape, then taped them into a nice arrangement. Had I known these flowers were so quick and easy to make, I probably would have made some for each table… not much chance of that happening now with the big day in less than a week!
Not bad for $2 worth of felt and couple of hours work, no? :)
