Show and Tell: Monster Quilt by Jillian Tamaki

New York-based illustrator Jillian Tamaki is known for her bold lines, shapes and colour palette… but these usually take the form of drawings, comics or paintings.  She recently posted these photos on her blog of this quilt that translates the sensibility of her sketches into embroidery:

Amazingly, Jillian’s created something full of fun and spontaneity despite the fact that she used such a time-intensive technique (and this is her first completed embroidery project!)
